BBQ State Championship and Catfish Wharf

Friday night we went down to the town square for the Arkansas state championship BBQ contest. It was awesome!!! We enjoyed a nice meal of ribs and pulled pork sandwiches and had a great time looking at all the different smokers that people were cooking their meat in. Our favorite is the one shown that is actually homemade by a couple that works for some railroad company. We got the pulled pork sandwiches from them and were not disappointed. Probably the best BBQ'd meat I've ever had.

Saturday we woke up to another thunderstorm and it rained all day long. That made for a very relaxing Saturday just lounging around the house. We ended up watching Wimbledon for most of the day so the rain just gave us an excuse to be lazy. The rain finally stopped in the evening so we made a quick trip to the Catfish Wharf for dinner. If you are in to eating a meal where absolutely everything is fried this is definitely the place for you. We had shrimp, catfish, stuffed crab, beans, pickled tomatoes, hush puppies, and cole slaw. I think our favorite were the hush puppies, stuffed crab, and pickled tomatoes. Needless to say, our weekend highlights all involved eating but that's what we love to do so who can complain.

That's the remainder of a stuffed crab. They literally stuff the top of the shell with meat and other goodies. Turn it over and you see two beady little eyes staring up at you from your plate.

You have such a cute family. We miss not being able to stop in and see you when you go to visit my parents in AF. Move back soon :)
