Miss Brooklyn had a wonderful year of Kindergarten! She loved to go to school each day to see her friends and teachers, and to get a break from her mom. :) We are so proud of her for being such a brave and big girl. She rode the bus to school and from school (the last two months) like a little champ. She learned a few new words and skills, kept everyone that worked with her on their toes, and became a savvy iPad user.

Brooklyn's special ed class sat with all the other kindergarten classes for a darling graduation program. They sang some cute songs and told what they learned through out the year. These kinds of things are quite emotional for me. It is hard at times to see regular developing kids her age and all the things they know and do. Brooklyn made big strides this year, and even to have her sit up on the stage with all the other kiddos is very impressive.
Brooklyn didn't want to wear her graduation cap, so here is Maddie trying it on while Brooklyn squeezes her fiercely. Brooklyn just loves Madison.
London was a good sport and modeled the cap.
I think this is a Utah thing, but at the end of the year the whole school puts on a dance festival. We got there right as the kindergarten began dancing, so it took us a while to even locate Brooklyn, then we were so far away for a good picture. But if you look closely there is the bean in the middle in her pink jacket. She was out on the field dancing around with all the kindergarten classes. So cute!
Another end of year activity was a teddy bear picnic. Her class brought their favorite teddy bear or stuffed animal out on a picnic with them. Brooklyn's favorite stuffed animal is Bob the monkey. Bob is really another member of our family. Grandma Baker gave Brooklyn this monkey during her 47 day stay up at Primary Children's Medical Center when she was 5-7 months old. She immediately chose him for her favorite stuffed animal, and he hasn't left her side since. That monkey seriously has gone on every trip we have ever been on, and is her favorite sleep buddy. She likes to chew on him so he gets a nice weekly wash. Anyway, Brooklyn took Bob to this teddy bear picnic, and the picture above is how he came home. He was in a zip lock bag with a note pinned to it that says..."Brooklyn had a great time at the teddy bear picnic. She gave her monkey a bath!" He was very wet! She laughed when we asked her what happened to Bob. We still don't know the story.
Congratulations Brooklyn for a successful kindergarten year. You did it!
