AF Steel Days 5K and Kids 1/2 Mile

Steve and I love to run in the annual American Fork Steel Days 5K each July.  This year we did it again, and got London to run in the Kids 1/2 mile race.  Steve and I ran the 5K, then headed home to get London ready for her race.  Here she is all ready to go in her new pink running shoes.  She picked them out herself.

London's buddy James also ran the race with his dad Marshall.
Here is the start line.  Steve is holding London up right in the middle of the crowd.  There were 160 plus kids who ran the race.
 Running along the home stretch.
London and James with their medals.  Congrats you two!!!
London especially enjoyed the post race oranges and other treats.
We stayed for the awards ceremony, and it's a good thing we did.  Miss London ended up taking second place for her gender and age bracket.  She got a super cool trophy.  We are so proud of her for being a good sport and trying her hardest.  She really enjoyed it and talks about racing again.  I hope she will be my running partner one day.
Later that night we went to the park for a picnic and play time.  My brother Matt was in town for the weekend so it was lots of fun.  Our girls just love him!  And they love to play outside and especially swing.
I love this picture of Maddie and Matt.  She loves to swing, and squeals with delight the minute she sits in and gets her first push.
Thanks for the fun visit Uncle Matt.  We love you!
