My family came up from Las Vegas to be with us for the Labor Day weekend. It was the first time we have seen them since being home from Arkansas. Of course they were the most excited to see the girls, which actually worked out well for Steve and me. We got out together a few times and enjoyed just being alone! My mom came up and cooked up a storm. She made her delicious orange rolls, ribs for Sunday dinner, and a yummy granola. We had a little barbecue on Saturday when Steve got home from the BYU football game. My mom went to nursery with Brooklyn on Sunday and had so much fun. We played Uno Spin Sunday night where Steve and my brother Matt traded off winning. We had a full house here in our little town home with my parents and three brothers staying, but we managed well. The girls loved all the attention from everyone, and it was really nice for me to have others watching them so I could get some things done. Steve and my dad went shooting early Monday morning, then they picked up my grandma and all drove back home. We had a fun weekend together. It's always nice to have family around.
Grandpa and the girls.
Monday night we had our good friends Mike and Jenny over for a barbecue. They were our neighbors in our first apartment after we got married. They have two little ones the same age as ours. It has been a lot of fun keeping in touch with them over the years. They are wonderful friends.
