Snowbird

The middle of August Steve and I got away for a night to Snowbird.  When Steve left work at Pepsi back in 2007 they gave him a nice gift card to Snowbird.  It only took us 6 years to finally use it.  We are not cold weather skiers, so going in the summer was perfect for us.  Steve splurged and got us a nice package with the hotel stay which included a delicious breakfast buffet.  We decided to eat our breakfast out on the porch and enjoy the beautiful green mountains while sipping our hot chocolate with whipped cream!  It was perfect!

We swam at the roof top pool.
We rode the tram up to the top of the mountain which has an elevation of 11,000 feet.  The sights were beautiful.  We hiked around at the top for a while and it got a little windy and chilly.

Back down to normal elevation, we went and checked out the finish line to one of the stages of the Tour of Utah bike race right there at Snowbird.  It's a very steep climb getting to Snowbird in that canyon.  I felt bad for those guys climbing it on bikes, but it was very cool to watch!
Lastly we rode the Alpine Slide.  The Cliff Lodge is right behind Steve in this picture.  It was a very nice place to stay.  We hope to do this get-a-way again soon.
Here are our babysitters which made it possible for Steve and I to get away.  The girls just love when Grandma and Grandpa Robinson come.  We all do.  We are very lucky to have them come so often.
