Christmas Traditions and Festivities

Making gingerbread houses is a Christmas tradition that we started thanks to some wonderful neighbors, the Vicks, from our old ward.  Christmas Eve three years ago they brought us over a few assembled (but bare) gingerbread houses and all the supplies to decorate them.  They brought us the same last year.  This year we did our own for a Family Home Evening earlier in the month.  But the Sunday before Christmas we came home from church and found a box full of gingerbread houses and candy just waiting for us.  What wonderful friends they are to still make sure we get to enjoy this wonderful family activity even though we have moved away.
Steve and Brooklyn work as a good team for projects like this.  Their Christmas tree was awesome!  Brooklyn has picked up a new camera pose...instead of screaming at the camera, she now is too cool to even notice it.  ;)
 London's creation
Love this happy little bunch!  Maddie loved the activity because of all the treats.
We have a "North Pole Delivery Service" right at the end of our street.  It is so great!  The girls wrote their letters to Santa, and one of his elves wrote them back...and sent treats.

Madison enjoyed finding our elf every morning.  She would get so excited and point to her, go grab and love on her.  We sure had a tricky time finding her every day.
Our first snowman of the Winter.
We had some of our favorite people over to decorate Christmas cookies for Family Home Evening a week before Christmas.  Here are Jesse and London showing their first cookies.
Little Benson was excited to show me his...and get his picture taken.
Miss Eliza went to town eating her cookies as her dad tried to get more decorating in.
Team Steve and Brooklyn at it again.
 Madison was in heaven.
 Matt and Marianne Baker Family
 London loved this activity!
The whole group.  In addition to our family, we had Matt, Marianne, Eliza, Linden, Dave, Rachel, Jesse, Benson, and Eilley.  We had so much fun being together and even more fun eating cookies!  I'm pretty sure more sprinkles ended up on the floor than on any cookies.
After the cookies Steve read "Away in a Manger" with the most beautiful illustrations by Thomas Kinkade.
