London's turkey
Steve and Brooklyn's turkey. Mine was too lame to show.
Steve's favorite mission companion, Florian, was visiting Utah from Germany and got in on the action. We had an early Thanksgiving dinner with the whole Baker Clan the weekend before Thanksgiving. My parents and brother came up to be with us for the actual Thanksgiving. We had a wonderful meal together. Steve and I ran the Turkey Trot 5K that morning, and London ran in a little kids dash. The next night we went up to Temple Square to see the lights with my parents. It was great weather and a fun night.
We put everyone to work when my family was here. Especially Matt. We raked leaves until they were finally all gone. We have 10 trees in our front yard, and 7 in the backyard. That means we had tons and tons of leaves. London and I raked and bagged most of the front yard the weeks leading up to Thanksgiving, but there was plenty more to do still. Thankfully it was beautiful weather and we enjoyed our time working and playing out in the sunshine.
Steve and Matt raked two huge piles of leaves in the backyard while I was feeding the girls lunch. I poked my head out and told the guys not to bag the leaves until after the girls got to come play in them. Matt buried Steve in one of the piles, and when we finally made it outside Steve jumped out of the pile and scared us. It was hilarious!
We bagged 17 HUGE bags of leaves when all was said and done. Thanks for all the help Uncle Matt! We had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We were glad to spend time with family, and also to have great babysitters so we could get out Black Friday shopping.
