The whole Baker Clan met in Springville the weekend of July 24th, for our family reunion. Friday night we had dinner then went to the park for races and games. Above are the little ones lined up ready to run. And then they were off...
London ran daintily down the race course while Steve helped Brooklyn to the finish line. At home earlier this day I was trying to psyche the girls up for running and get them motivated to win. Not so much! London thought it was all so fun and pranced happily, while Brooklyn, who really could have won, didn't like to be told what to do and angrily ran her race. Hilarious!

Then they did a race where you had to keep a plastic egg on the spoon you held. London thought this was great and held her egg and the spoon. Why not? Her expression says it all.
And then the men raced with their pride on the line. Steve came in second, you can see the kicked back foot of the first place winner, his little brother Matt. Steve said he needed a little more distance and he could have won it. Hilarious!
Brooklyn found the finish line and that kept her busy the rest of the evening.
The next day was filled with games, food, boat rides, and a giant water slide, just to name a few. We played several minute to win it games including shaking out the ping pong balls that were inside the tissue box that was strapped to your bum. And placing an oreo cookie on your forehead and using only your face muscles to move the cookie into your mouth. Our 10 year old nephew got 5 cookies into his mouth in the one minute. He was amazing to watch!
The little kids had tons of fun when they brought out the parachute.

Love this picture of Brooklyn with Aunt Marianne, baby Eliza, and Miss London. Our girls just love all their aunts and uncles.
Steve and I were in charge of the talent show that night. Instead of having 30+ grand kids, the aunts and uncles, and grandma and grandpa show off their real talents, we did more of a random talent take on the whole show. It turned out really well, and...hilarious!

London's talent was putting her toes in her mouth. Other talents included solving a Rubik cube while blind folded, balloon animals, balancing acts, blowing spit bubbles, touching tongue to nose, spinning a basketball on one finger, ripping an apple in half with bare hands, etc.

And just because we did a little award presentation of un-talents we came up with for all the grown-ups. We got our inspiration from the Dundie Awards on The Office and got the actual awards from DI. These were couple awards, but in this picture mostly the Baker "child" is standing with their award. Starting from the left:
Matt and Marianne received the Punctuality Award (clock) for having every minute of the family reunion planned out. They are such planners, so we had to give him a hard time.
Dave and Rachel received the Safety Award (helmet) for having the most accidents in the past year. Late one night Dave sent out an email of his broken, bent, and nasty finger from playing softball, Rachel had a little run in with a tree while riding a scooter, and their son Benson always has a new bruise on his face.
Brian and Kris received the Fertility Award (basket of eggs, chickens and bunnies) because of their recent announcement of expecting #9. She put the tether ball in her shirt to ham this picture up.
Dad received the Wish You Were Here Award (camera) for emailing out the most pictures of things he does/places he visits, etc. with the title WYWH. It has become an out of control family thing lately with everyone doing it, but by far he takes the cake!
Mom received the Mother Hen Award (stuffed hen) for successfully gathering yet another one of her children back to Utah. She now has 7 of her 8 children living within an hour of her.
Julie and Matthew received the Sunshine Award (sunscreen) for living in sunny Southern California, yet managing to be the most pale of anyone. They seriously believe in covering up! They have all the gear to keep out of the sun...we had to make fun!
Amy and Trevor received the Eternal Diet Award (fruit plaque) for always being on some sort of diet or healthy challenge. They even bring out their own food to mom and dad's to stick to their plans.
Gary and Kristen received the Home Sweet Home Award ("home sweet home" on a wooden heart trimmed with lace) for moving their family of 9 the most in the past year, for moving out to Utah and living in mom and dad's basement until they find a home.
Steve and I gave ourselves the Awesome Award for putting on the best talent show ever! And not pictured are Jill and Chris. They received the Medical Award (first aid kit) for having the most trips to the ER, most random illnesses and dr. visits for the year. And the reason why they weren't there to receive the award was because of a medical issue with their son. Perfect!
We had a super fun family reunion and feel so blessed to have such wonderful family members!

Those awards were funny to read about! Sounds like a great family reunion!
Want to adopt me so I can come to one of these fun reunions sometime?
And really? How do you do a rubik's cube blindfolded?
